An Update on Twitter API Changes

Hello Champ! There is an important update regarding how X (formerly Twitter) posts are published through Social Champ, starting June 27th, 2026.

Recently, X updated its API pricing structure, which has significantly increased the cost for third-party platforms to publish posts containing external links. Instead of increasing subscription prices for all customers, we are keeping all base plans unchanged and introducing a separate structure for link publishing based on X’s direct costs.

What stays completely free and unchanged

Plain Text & Media Posts Stay 100% Free:

You can continue publishing text, image, and video posts to X on all paid plans. There are no changes to this. (Fair Usage Policy applies)

For users who publish link posts: Introducing the $5 stacking add-on

If your strategy includes sharing external links on X, we’ve introduced a flexible add-on so you only pay for what you use:

$5 = 20 link posts per month
$10 = 40 link posts per month
$15 = 60 link posts per month

You can stack in $5 increments based on your monthly link posting needs.

What happens if you exceed your limit:

If you exceed your monthly link post allowance, your scheduled link posts will be safely held instead of failing or being deleted. You can then choose to remove the link to publish it as a free post, wait for the next cycle, or add more link posts with a simple upgrade. Please note any old link posts scheduled before 3rd July, 2026 will be failed unless you buy the addon.

Timeline and visibility:

Usage meters will appear in your dashboard as soon you purchase the addons so you can track your link volume.

Twitter has been in the news for quite some time for its revolutionary changes. Twitter announced new API access tiers and ended the free excess to its API on February 1st, 2023. However, these changes will not have a huge impact on Social Champ’s paying users, yet certain limitations are applicable now.

We have taken all the effective measures to maintain our connections with Twitter channels.
